The Pennsylvania Independent Oil & Gas Association (PIOGA) has launched a new Logistics and Transportation Committee to address the evolving transportation challenges facing Pennsylvania’s oil and natural gas industry. Frank C. Botta, a Partner at The Lynch Law Group, has been named co-chair of the committee alongside Daniel Garcia.
The new committee will provide PIOGA members with a dedicated forum to discuss transportation and logistics challenges, exchange industry knowledge and help shape educational and advocacy initiatives. Its formation reflects the critical role transportation plays in Pennsylvania’s oil and natural gas industry, from moving equipment and materials to ensuring regulatory compliance.
Bringing Transportation Experience to Industry Leadership
Botta brings extensive experience in transportation law and industry operations to his new leadership role. Before joining The Lynch Law Group, he spent seven years as in-house counsel for Roadway Express and RPS, now known as FedEx Ground. He also previously served as president of the Transportation Lawyers Association, further demonstrating his longstanding involvement in transportation law.
As co-chair, Botta will help guide the committee’s efforts to address regulatory, safety and legislative matters affecting transportation throughout the industry. Areas of focus include hazardous materials transportation, permitting, vehicle weight restrictions, road-use agreements and compliance with federal and state transportation requirements.
Addressing Emerging Industry Challenges
The committee will focus on identifying and addressing the transportation and logistics issues that directly affect PIOGA members. Its initial priorities include gathering feedback from members, identifying common operational challenges and establishing an agenda that reflects the industry’s needs.
Through educational programming, regulatory updates and opportunities to share best practices, the committee aims to help members navigate evolving transportation requirements. It will also support PIOGA’s efforts to evaluate transportation policies and communicate industry concerns to relevant government and regulatory agencies.
Participation will be open to a broad range of industry professionals, including trucking companies, logistics providers, producers, service companies, attorneys and consultants. This collaborative approach will allow members to contribute their firsthand experience and help shape the committee’s priorities.
Supporting Pennsylvania’s Oil and Natural Gas Industry
As the transportation landscape continues to evolve, the new committee will serve as a resource for PIOGA members seeking to stay informed about regulatory developments and emerging industry challenges. Through collaboration, education and advocacy, its work will help address the complex logistics involved in Pennsylvania’s oil and natural gas operations.
The Lynch Law Group is proud to see Botta bring his transportation law experience and industry knowledge to this initiative. His leadership reflects the firm’s continued commitment to supporting industry organizations and contributing to the business communities it serves.
