Jacquelyn Core is a Partner at the Lynch Law Group and a Member of the Corporate Practice Group. She also chairs the Firm’s Education Practice Group, representing colleges and universities, and assists clients with estates and trusts and labor and employment matters.
Jacquelyn advises clients, ranging from family-owned and middle-market businesses to Fortune 500 companies, in a broad spectrum of matters, including transactional (mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, and private equity deals) to contractual restructurings and reviews.
Her extensive C-suite experience, most recently as a CEO, provides a value-added benefit to her clients from the insight she derives from applying a real-world, business operations perspective to practical, strategic legal advice. In addition, Jacquelyn is a seasoned litigator whose wide-ranging success in the courtroom is a significant advantage to her corporate clients in potential corporate litigation, contract disputes, and risk assessments.
Jacquelyn’s experience in higher education includes more than 20 years of advising and defending public and private colleges and universities in all aspects of education law. In addition, she has substantial leadership experience on the operational side of higher education. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of prominent roles including university Provost, Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Planning, and Senior Deputy General Counsel for Health Sciences at an R1 University.
This combination of experience makes her an insightful and strategic partner in assisting academic leaders and decision-makers with the development of mission-driven, cost-effective, and implementable solutions to the challenges they face in the ever-changing higher education environment.
Jacquelyn earned her J.D. from West Virginia University College of Law in 1998. She went on to receive her Ph.D. in Human/Economic Geography from West Virginia University in 2010. She is active in her community and serves on a number of boards and committees including both the FayPenn Economic Development Board and the Advisory Board of Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus. Jacquelyn is also active in the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, including the Fayette Business Education Partnership.
She is the proud mother of two sons who are accomplished distance runners. When not serving her clients or watching her sons run, she can be found fly-fishing or shooting sporting clays, her two outdoor passions.
