Jacquelyn Jordon Core

Jacquelyn Core is a Partner with The Lynch Law Group. She is passionate about applying her unique perspective and rare combination of experience in restoring profitability and operating businesses from the c-suite and her operational leadership experience in higher education, to providing solid legal advice that creates possibilities for her clients. Her goal is to provide superior service and develop creative solutions to both the routine and unexpected business challenges her clients face — moving their business forward and helping them thrive.

As Chair of the Education Practice Group, Jacquelyn has more than thirteen years of experience advising and defending higher education institutions in all aspects of education law, including student affairs, faculty tenure and promotion, governance issues, academic affairs, and athletics. She has distinctive experience navigating the complex web of regulations related to NCAA rules and has represented multiple university athletic programs in NCAA compliance issues and at hearings before the NCAA in Indianapolis.

The leadership and guidance Jacquelyn provides to colleges and universities is further informed by her hands-on experience on the operational side of higher education. Having served in a variety of prominent roles including university Provost, Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Planning, and Senior Deputy General Counsel for Health Sciences at an R1 University, she partners with academic leaders and decision-makers to develop mission-driven, cost-effective, and implementable solutions to the issues and challenges they face in the ever-changing higher education environment.

In the realm of business, Jacquelyn assists clients, ranging from family-owned businesses to Fortune 500 companies, in a broad spectrum of matters, both inside the courtroom and out. Having held the position of CEO, her clients benefit from the insight she derives from marrying a solid legal foundation with real-world, business operations experience.

Jacquelyn is a seasoned litigator with extensive courtroom experience. Throughout her career, she has successfully represented diverse businesses, school boards, and colleges and universities in trials related to business, employment, construction, malpractice, and sexual abuse.

Jacquelyn earned her J.D. from West Virginia University College of Law in 1998. She went on to receive her Ph.D. in Human/Economic Geography from West Virginia University in 2010. She is active in her community and serves on a number of boards and committees including both the FayPenn Economic Development Board and the Advisory Board of Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus. Jacquelyn is also active in the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, including the Fayette Business Education Partnership.

She is the proud mother of two sons who are accomplished distance runners. When not serving her clients or watching her sons run, she can be found fly-fishing or shooting sporting clays, her two outdoor passions.
