Chuck Hadad, Chair of the Estates and Trusts Group, has been selected as a panelist for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s continuing legal education program, Estate Planning: Beyond the Basics. 

Participants will earn 5.00 hours of substantive credits and 1 hour of ethics credit. The program will be held from 9:00 am – 4:15 pm, April 27, 2017, at the PBI Professional Development Conference Center in Pittsburgh.  

Course Overview

Avoid Common Estate Planning Blunders
Discuss common oversights, gaffes, and errors encountered by estate planners…and learn what to do to avoid them! From problems related to naming a trust as a beneficiary in an IRA, planning for death, but not incapacity, and other novel technologies, you will receive practical tips so you don’t find yourself caught in an unexpected planning trap.

Compare Trust Laws
Evaluate Pennsylvania’s trust laws against those of neighboring states such as Delaware and Ohio to determine how an estate plan could be affected due to relocation or other measures.

Examine Taxes, Ethics, and Other Planning Concepts
Analyze estate planning in the current interest rate environment. Consider the ethical implications every estate planner must recognize. Discuss cross-border planning issues when working with international clients.
